                                 Currently the Kaituna Seam is being mined.                                                          

The Kaituna Seam is 13-18m in thickness and is a black lignite verging onto a sub-bituminous coal.


A typical analysis (as sampled basis) gives:
 
Our product line consists of:
Gross calorific value 19.67 Mj/kg – 8460 Btu/lb Household +50mm – 200mm
Moisture 30.40  % Nuts      +25mm – 35mm
Ash    4.70  %

Peas        

+7mm  – 25mm
Volatile matter 30.80  % Chip   +4mm  – 10mm
Fixed carbon 34.10  %   Fines - 4mm all in
Sulphur         1.52%   Dross - 35mm all in
      Bagged Coal +25 80mm
      Our 20 kg Bagged Coal is available in the South Island from selected supermarkets and your local outlets.

Kai Point Coal has the ability to deliver coal to major customers utilising our own delivery vehicles or by contracting outside transport operators.

Customer Purchase -  Pea Grade Coal (used in Boilers) being loaded onto a Ute

Our Household Coal available by trailer load or ute load.

inclusive of Carbon Tax and GST.

You can purchase and pick up your Kai Point Coal
at the Kai Point Coal Mine,
situated at the corner of Berry and Salcombe Streets, Kaitangata, South Otago, New Zealand.

The Kai Point Coal Mine is open from 8am to 5pm weekdays and 8am to 12pm on Saturday,
